Korean Barbeque |
We also went out for street food one night, which we have been eyeing up every time we go for a walk in the evenings. Everything looks really interesting and makes you very curious as to what it is! Here are a few photos of the things we had...
(Coming soon)
We were taken out on Saturday by Luuk and his girlfriend Eunnalae, who were very kindly helping us throughout the process of finding a job here in Korea. We had never met them before, but we got on really well and had a great day sightseeing. First we went to the fish market, which is a huge warehouse full of every kind of sea creature imaginable! You can buy things from here and take it upstairs to be prepared for you to eat, but we had just eaten so unfortunately we couldn't do it this time. Check out the huge tiger prawns they sold there!
Afterwards, we took a taxi to the 63 building, a skyscraper on Yeouido island which overlooks the Han River, and has 63 floors. We took the (scary) lift to the top - it is all glass on one side and your ears pop as you go up! The views were great, and would have been even better had it not been tipping down with rain.
We then went to Hongdae, a trendy area where a lot of Arts students hang out. The weather decided to cheer up a little bit which was nice, and we ate some really nice food which I have forgotten the name of... but it was bits of fish and vegetables fried in egg, and Koreans tend to eat this with Makgeolli, which is rice wine served in a kettle.
